  One opinion is this has been the most God forsaken time in the history of humankind for quite a long while. Another is there’s never been more progress than ever before, if only those other people would get out of the way.

  Today a New York Times front page headline Romney Faces Pressure From Right to Put Ryan on Ticket, included this introduction: Editorials in favor of putting Representative Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin on the Republican ticket as vice president follow a wave of public pressure for Mitt Romney to erase doubts about his commitment to conservative causes. As if his incessant badgering of Democrats as Socialists, from the stump, wasn’t enough.

  But of course this is how our current political equation is labeled for the public’s digestive ease, and whose convenience? The public’s? Because real issue-oriented debate diffuses where our attention should focus overall? No, once again, the public hardly cares as most of what’s drummed across the country is what’s easiest for those in the business to package and sell. A poll, discussed just this week, even suggests it’s the political media the public is most tired of. But they just repeat the jargon so it’s debatable it’s their fault at all for why the messenger is blamed.Though I remember being upset when Tim Russert on Meet The Press would, with a stern expression, call anyone to task over the same redundancies because that’s what was the week’s headline news. While now David Gregory does the same blasted thing but with that grin, that however nice it is, people would be scared of electing to office. Though I might trust him, I still wish some dag-gum original questions could enter the debate without the questioners being immediately dismissable as outcasts.

  So it’s not anyone’s fault? It’s just the game as it has always been played? Well no, it can’t be that exactly, so it’s everyone’s fault. Yet everyone is powerless to change the status quo. So we rally together as Occupy, or Tea Party, fan-atic-s, and grouped together we can force something, or anything, on the political entity enterprises and find out the more we push for change, the more the song does remain the same.

  Fiscal conservatism, who wouldn’t want to be fiscally conservative? Liberally tolerant, who doesn’t want to allow others their space? It hardly matters, because the cold brutal fact is those with power aren’t relinquishing it or sharing with anyone who doesn’t allow them to keep controlling the strings whether we vote or not. And it shouldn’t be sad that half the country believes the other half is wrong when that has always been and is our strength. The ability to agree to disagree. So conservatives, shove it where the sun doesn’t shine, and liberals get off yours the poor don’t need you anymore. The fact is raising the minimum wage has never raised the value of the minimum wage. Taxing the rich has never solved the declining treasury because prices rise to fill the void in their wallets and, anyway, as anyone with a clue knows, that money has been less taxably reachable offshore for years and, who knows, when that loophole is clogged, maybe that’s why we’re financing these trips to Mars so all our banking can get as far away from the general public circulation as possible?

  For me, in the midst of all this nonsense what’s best is probably just another sarcastic answer. Take a rich guy to lunch today. They might leave a larger tip. And we could all use more clues how to solve today’s financial crisis other than Sea Biscuit in the third. Don’t know what that means? Some wisdom has failed to pass through the generations. Well, in the old days when someone asked for some insightful information, one might give them the tip “Sea Biscuit in the third” because as one of the greatest race horses of all time, Biscuit would probably win any race he was entered in that day at the track. But that horse never ran smaller stakes races and well, our political process seems, at the end of the day, to just be about how much the winners get when eating their bigger steaks.

  Yep. Obviously I’m snubbing my nose at the whole convoluted mess, and you still know who I’m voting for. I just want to go home and I’ve had it up to here with all of you.

However, if Mitt Romney wins I believe change will be made and anyone who is not rich will definitely suffer in this world. But isn’t this the whole game of it all. If majority of the people are poor they would depend on the one who has it all. Money+Power=Respect. S.N. if people wake up and become “one people” and overthrow the mess that the government is dishing out then maybe we will began getting somewhere. People are brainwashed into acting like suckers because too many times one or two people are used as examples of what will happen shall anyone ever try to go against the government. People are scared as hell in this world when they feel they are doing anything wrong to upset the government. Why? Because they fear punishment when in fact they are being punished everyday for being whimps and suckers. The American Government has got Americans and other nations by the balls and everytime the government feels threatened they pull the nut sack of the people to release pain. A sign to the SUCKERS that their going too far! The government has too much control!!

What's So Funny About Heartless Ruthless Fakery?

     "Witch Hunt" as has been bandied about, of late, roughly copies the, never apologize, deny anything playbook brazenly practiced and bragged about by the cravenly opportunist lawyer - Roy Cohn. An anything goes, extremely proportioned, tokenistic flag-wearer. As opposed to an American holding of our flag in high regard. 
  With the public's relations' mirrors angled such that dissected nuance is patently shallowed out. Surface-ly shaped contrivances have only their intended consequences admitted to - if at all. Open speculation's lost to snippets of just near-relevance. Whereby the point's mere happenstance and an outright aggressive denial's not even pressed for details from which coherence evolves. 
  Some bubble humans have crafted here. Obviously God/Allah didn't raise a finger to create our entire mess. If only we'd followed that thought, then, maybe, what's down the line didn't always have to be other things coming first. Business should have gotten us ahead and out of our complicity with environmental disaster. Global warming or not. What's so inconsequential about facing a better world beyond manufacturing greatness? Mr. President?
  To so brazenly unfocus the public consciousness by conflating detractors' detractions into distractions. Face it. People really didn't want to see Soap Operatic coming. And the manipulative use of the presidential halo to further engender a bitter social-wide aberrant Americanism that's, well, apropos for such a self-consumed rationalizing as we've been exposed to by our political leaders. As tough as it is to say, at a certain point, President Trump's perhaps our first elected scapegoat. The country desired another Teflon Don. Which is of course, a bandwagon already claimed to be on. Another grain for the salt pile.
  Of course there's no shame. That's the point. Weeks back our president said  "global warming a little bit" after being squeezed about a tragedy. See? Growth America, is all on our shoulders. And certainly not The Great American Pollster Presidency. This country always should have pursued being bigger than that. An ideal tossed away by having border walls. Bullcrap the problems on the other side aren't everyone's responsibilities. Mr. President.

Don’t Bury The Lead’s The Number 1 Rule

in media presentation. From scribes through news journalism to sitcom and fanfaric  spectacular. Whatever label applies, the basic premise of grabbing attention's remained the same. Skimmers' eyeballs could miss something of import so everything should at least have a go at appearing as if 

emblazoned 

across the top. Particularly since audiences are now direct consumers reduced to the Great Tag Spectacular's ALL LEAD.
  Meanwhile this specific editorial's intent is to bluntly criticize The New York Times. Attack would be an over-aggressive word, full of over-reacted to vitriol, and to all our mutual disadvantages however anyone's leverages are interpreted.

Here's the thing. A full page advertisement, produced with TBrandStudio, condoned excessive automobile speed. Projecting the keeping in play of the obliviousness, behind the hypocrisy, involved in compounding the economic culture's not stopping exploiting Mother Earth's fossilized insides. There wasn't enough business at one time, so the  amounts of refuse weren't exactly even a minor concern. SO? 
  So where's the we're smarter than that now attitude been - all this time? On Public Relations Row, lost in that fantasmic chasm of circulating over-priced affordability. When a foundational solar source of power, for every home and office, wasn't a priority decades back? The who, what, where, and why of how that's to happen is still so preposterously silly, that face it. We've let capitalism down with our uncreativity.    

  But everything's ok because some day there'll be a machine to take care of whatever problem there is. Do people having to act as if we're machines now, provide possible clues? Is programming every possibility possible?  Can't specifically  blame the car companies for shortchanging the world's transportation systems. Ours are cultures ripe for exploitation, still. Sure. The Times has to run Rupert Murdoch's advertisements as opposed to committing censorship. And The Times doesn't have to run ads in Mr. Murdoch's publications because there's that old trumpian twist of accusing first before having to resort to denial. From The Times' not noticing the money and Mr. Murdoch's not needing it, both are fallacies. As if traffic were all the manufacturer's faults? Ancestry's miscalculations people are kept from understanding how critical our mistakes have been to change their happening now. 
  Face anything. Mass transportation's advantages? As often happens in history, the public's not wanted to see past the diamonds' glitter and glow. So exploited that taken advantage of is a bottom line, stemming from an outright laziness behind the preposterousness of our not being able to afford our world working better. Travel shouldn't be so inherently dangerous. Period. We should be smarter than outrageous speeds making up for the inconvenience of lost time. We're the inconvenient wrecks paying homage to the Mobile Throne. 

Really, of course, the problem's been that the selling people a comfortably expensive way of life is justifiably sound. That's where the money is. Ironic at all, that Willie Sutton owns the phrase? People should feel rewarded. Anything less is complaining spoiled sports not in on the huge haul. Yet there's already enough money for eternity, so money has to solve ecological abuse in more creative way than taxes. For instance only buying cars whose financial backing is by companies working in the broader Transportation Business as well. Duff sitting elitists. 
  But, everyone with a clue knows there's no other option than handling money's flow. So there are charges etc., adding difficulties to everyone's lives as well as unfortunate, out of hand, violence as took place in Paris. Nonetheless, Yellow Vests For Everybody. Fact is people already have this extremely debilitating burden of worrying about how much they'll suffer through retirement without substantial funds. A million and something? Once upon a time, people survived on the interest on $100,000 in the bank. That's history? Frittered away. Then finally, is it true, that making the planet great's just an indifferent ordeal of make-believe idealism? Publicity? Sure, economy's working right. But not when disparity's manufactured by squeezing from the consumers' lives. Oh yeah, citizens. The further tappable billions all over the world.

How Is It People Are Oblivious To Civility?

   How has this obliviousness to common sense become such a head in the sand scapegoated disentangling from responsibility. Responsibility? As easy enough to gripe about as hard to face.

  A football riot in Buenos Aires is a disgrace and clear example of others blamed in advance. Boca's bus comes down a traditional street for River devotees' congregation and bedlam ensues. Duh. I've sat in Monumental Stadium and waited the half hour for the opposition's fans to leave the area. The people are desperately hoodwinked. But all the responsible parties are very wrong. River forfeits, and with Boca's humility, history has a chance. Otherwise it's all hail the inflated pride and cashflow as nothing's done about building, and redeeming, the whole world's character. As per usual.

My favorite late afternoon thing to do is write, in the grass, with the Geese in the Joe Biden Wilmington Riverside Park. 

    Quite an elucidating trip taking in Wilmington, Baltimore and the nation's capital back to Wilmington NOW till the 11:30 train tonight. Obvious how embedded the future's problems are. All the nation has to do is concede to idolizing the car, Robert Moses and the right to be forgiven for destroying the world is too presumptuous. If companies offer carbon free in another generation, it's hiding from over TWO GENERATIONS of outright malfeasance in this regard. Court of irreversible opinion.

    It's not oh no global warming, whenever? What? Over unless wrong things are fixed. Every car could be electric. GAS INDUSTRY devoted to destroying the world is just arrogant denial that needs off ALL OUR A___S. Murderers no matter how much luxury conforms our polished eyes to accepting killing each other arrogantly in our cars, remains atop the selfishly destroyed planet. Our GOD given World. Well, at least insurance pays itself well enough to lie well enough behind hiding behind money. SELFISH ARROGANCE! 

    And so in the continuing saga of my saying little or nothing more about the obvious deniability of my being scapegoated and blacklisted by the corporate giant uber through their UBEREATS Division that combined with the other apps to destroy the bicycle as an efficient delivery system for food in New York City. More efficient motorbikes? Faced with actual responsibility for turning their backs on an obvious CLOCKWORK ORANGE atmosphere on the city streets. Well no. The Supreme Court says corporations should deny ethics like any other entity as self entitled as their corrupt selves. 

    WHY DON'T YOU ALL GO WHITHER WAVING FROM THE GRANDSTANDS, you outright polished IDIOCY idolizing the worst CHIEF JUSTICE ever! The friend of the worst BLACK MAN EVER on the SUPREME COURT! Blame my hating you? Screwballs. You're the ones stuck lying only about yourselves!

    Nope, no way. State, App companies that dominated programmers to faze out competition for labor couriers established 50 years ago. No one's fingers able to lift what exploiting independent contractors destroyed generations. The promise of proper circulation system?     UBER can say no one told them specifically we COURIERS  were watching for their specific sin. But obviously enough lawyers, or near enough ones, knew in my just walking away, in disgust, months ago, the apps can just keep smothering their own balls, with their own My Pillows if they insist owning the whole bed is more important than everyone SLEEPING ON IT. IT? Homes on planet EARTH? Hello! How many ways can money be subdivided such that it never reaches the bottom again? Question answered generations ago, Ethicless MODERN MAN.     So New York State and Uber will sit on their hands and volleyball money and food will arrive eventually and everyone deny if only we didn't pretend there wasn't a problem chiseling labor out of the system. Pretending figuring's all that's needed for money to work. 

    Customers were right stopping tipping. Unethical people made inadequate service happen. Started with rates that might not have needed tipping. Then oh well, as written earlier, it's acknowledged I/WE were just waiting for the collapse. It worked. Why collapse it? They didn't care and the State won't be that energetic in bureaucratic lethargy THAT DOMINATES THE COMMERCIAL AND STATE Bureaucracies.

    Well. Seems this Major Revolutionary War city, where Americans retreated, to strengthen, still has bicycles delivering. Obviously uber spent money to attack New York. These three cities they're probably just carving up the suburbs promising what's left of the malls or whatever. As if they could over-all strategize with care, sitting back and waiting on the digits doing the perpetual work of hiding people who think exploitation's just fun gotten away with.

    Filled out an application with the Delaware Company still employing bicycles. Though I'm basically rudderless as real estate overpriced getting by ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. Social Security used to pay something for a rented room, that's now just space on the street or your very own line on a list of people society decided marketing as homeless was useful enough. Leaving many discarded so weak it would break any real heart exposing themselves to those truly unfortunate broken fixable lives. 

    Made more sense marketing to levels of money, rather than vouchers so real estate that destroyed economics pretends smiling effectively covers up unfortunate outright deliberate ethicless fraud. No matter how much we'd like to excuse our children's and parents' devious reasonings' faults.

    I was heading south, but a plan worth thinking about, besides, of course, "NO COMMENT," is Wilmington.

    I can be in New York easily or vice-verse. Want to rotate, with empty storefronts, my films in the window(s) for the nightly theater crowd etc and as outlet for artists to commercially show. Market Street windows are a virtual downtown widow filled gallery show reaching almost near the waterfront past the Train Station.

    Here's the kicker, if gumption. Apps don't own the copyright on apps' ability. Known for years, but how to create a competitive infrastructure. Couriers have done this in small ways working with restaurants ... 

    I think Downtown Wilmington that closes early, as all Delaware does, would benefit with a well regulated properly paid for system of delivery. Just think if THE BURBS had been properly designed. Feeding trains to the line connecting the largest on the Eastern Seaboard. A pattern that might have meant half the problem with choked by gas engines, wouldn't be so obviously self indulgent alone NOW. Beg forgiveness? For pure impudence? Not me.

    A good system would not be these wholesalers acting like grocery stores doing just deliveries. That's not local stores strengthened as apps promised, before undermining owner owned dining all over NEW YORK CITY! But the whole downtown Wilmington working together? Pharmacies taking turns. Suburbs calculated efficiently?

    Problem, supplying the suburbs reaches? Don't. Idea to build support from, is downtown businesses success. Not throw a labyrinth over and say accept failure because no matter how much a disaster is caused by malpractice, the criminality of legal ethiclessness remains covered up. Seriously. Where there's a will, that's a way.

    The apps, as NEW YORK also exploits in real estate enforcing a % of locations' profits on sales. Here to help? Apps charged a percentage on restaurants that restaurants absorbed unable to pass to customers. 

    Customers pay for it is right. If not, doesn't work. Economy twisted weird & an uber court-fired woman objectifying sexist EXEC(s) delivers food FOR THE ALMOST ENTIRE RETAIL FRANCHISE FOOD BUSINESS out of mobile homes? Near enough ethicless? Competition-wise, lawyers cooperate. While uber creator, historically you're just ____. 

    Nice in retrospect knowing uber hated me and I found myself left with no voice, though don't precisely hate. Explained, company trapped not giving a ____. Go ahead, state, company, fix something. I already assume it's said both are. When Uber's proven too darn funny destroying me who only wanted to help. That's right. "Bicycle Couriers can you believe these people?" They know. All left that exploitive idiocy angry. 

    Competition is right. But people need to wonder why so important to not be judged based on ethics anymore? And that crap was elected president once, pretending stupid is strong.

Dear Parcels Career Contact, 

Attention Human Resources ... and Vice President ...  as ( ... on Linked identified RETIRED)

I filled out an application at the Wilmington Office last week, and as I've travelled AMTRAK three cities, this past week, and not based in Wilmington, I'm probably not thought worth looking into. But I request at least hearing this letter out. I've delivered on a bicycle 33 years. 

Bobby, earlier today, and I listened to each other a bit. Basically, if I could be fit in, I want to live in Wilmington and work for PARCELS on the bicycle. Wilmington seems to be, so far, curbed from being overrun by kamikaze motorbikes as evolved in New York City. Wilmington, car mecca aside, is a place where I could work. Nice streets for walking at night. PARCELS stood out as worth applying to. 

This is a film I made, including  a 1987 documentary defending bicycle couriers. Likely why I'm not fired by UBEREATS. I was effectively ostracized after the system was improved and THEN leveled off destroying competition for labor among companies established by bicycle couriers 50 years ago. The big two, or so, bought up then exploited the crafting of cheaper to customers right out of the actual work's pockets. Algorythmists carvings into thinking it's fun capitalism destroying labor's cut of the pie. 

    Don't know what's happened to uber's suit to stop eight years of text disclosures that mine should be prominent among. Just ridiculous, but not PARCELS problem. THE NY STATE AND UBER are bureaucratic incapable of pulling together fixing the problem of knowingly calculating failure. HIRE BACK THE PEOPLE THAT HAD IT WORKING! 

    Not PARCELS problem. I am applying for a job. But I don't want "why didn't you tell us" to apply. 

    Basically in NYC, uber paid couriers per hour to wait around and give perfect service. When I walked in for indoctrination, 5 Muslim cab drivers had killed themselves (MEDALLION SCAM debt to city when obvious money dissolved before their dying eyes). 

    I wanted to know how they were justified dominating bicycles. At the end the man who knew looked at me and shrugged his shoulders when I said, "this could work, but they're going to screw it up, aren't they?" See? Know too much for my own good as the saying goes. 

    Anyway. I am a very efficient courier. I've had incidents where months later I remember something that's found something. Better the system works perfectly, but point is I can do the job competently. 

    The plan was back to New York to get my bicycle, then south where it's warmer. But in Wilmington I’m still accessible to New York and if the job fits I can commit to being loyal and punctual. 

    I can promise to last the winter. Technically April-ish. Not that if things aren’t working I can’t stick with it. It’s just realistically a winter promise is sincere. I want to show silent(?) films in one (as many as I can) of those nice empty windows along Market Street that's lined like a nice mall of galleries. The Music and Theater Scene is a good audience for sidewalk theater. 

    As a writer based 38 years in New York City, I still prefer easy access to Manhattan and Wilmington makes sense. Downtown Wilmington as big as it is, has nice small town written underneath how everything is so overpriced for the elite. As has evolved everywhere else the economy's stretched past proportion. 

    I don't want to be a jerk about it, but with 43 adult years on the bicycle - dropped off from a van, or something, means some motion sickness in vehicles for me. I can deal with it, but regularly or excessively isn't efficient. 

    My train to New York leaves tonight, 11:30. Going south or straight to Wilmington to talk or discuss employment I want to do. EVEN IF we are just learning things from each other, that's satisfactory. Don't worry, I find the cadgiest people reveal most shutting up. All I'm told is you still employ bicycles. 

    And this made my life as a writer, (needing a 20-25 hour delivery-week), more significant. However small and humble I could possibly hope to say I remain. 

    And this would be my essay that perhaps somewhat explains why it makes sense to relocate (retreat) to this Revolutionary War Heritage City.

    So before leaving Washington your mental image turned somewhat blue. + white lipstick a surprise. But Brown Eyes, your pupils are brown too? 
     So of course, typical man, & woman, we made it to your monument placing. Where the 1914 Suffragette March went for speeches and I sat, wondering how I look bunched up in your winter hat in your bag? 

    Well, anyway. Quite the elucidating trip taking in Wilmington, Baltimore and the nation's capital back to Wilmington. Obvious. All the nation has to do is concede to idolizing the car, Robert Moses and the right to be forgiven for destroying the world is too presumptuous. If companies offer carbon free in another generation, it's hiding from over TWO GENERATIONS of outright malfeasance in this regard. 

    It's not oh no global warming whenever. It's over unless things gone wrong are fixed. Every car could be electric. GAS INDUSTRY devoted to destroying the world is just arrogant denial that needs off ALL OUR A___S. Murderers no matter how much luxury conforms our polished eyes to accepting killing each other arrogantly in our cars on top of selfishly destroying the earth. Well at least insurance pays itself well enough to lie to ourselves about what our percentages really mean beyond money. SELFISH ARROGANCE! 

    And so in the continuing saga of my saying little or nothing more about the obvious deniability of my being scapegoated and blacklisted by the corporate giant uber through their UBEREATS Division that combined with the other apps to destroy the bicycle as an efficient delivery system for food in New York City. More efficient motorbikes? Faced with actual responsibility for turning their backs on an obvious CLOCKWORK ORANGE atmosphere on the city streets. Well no. The Supreme Court says corporations should deny ethics like any other entity as self entitled as their corrupt selves. 

    WHY DON'T YOU ALL GO WHITHER WAVING FROM THE GRANDSTANDS, you outright polished IDIOCY idolizing the worst CHIEF JUSTICE ever! The friend of the worst BLACK MAN EVER on the SUPREME COURT! Blame my hating you? Screwballs. You're the ones stuck lying only yourselves!

    Nope, no way. State, App companies that dominated programmers to faze out competition for labor couriers established 50 years ago. No one's fingers able to lift what exploiting independent contractors can destroy. The promise,  made tregedy just calculating money in the form of OUTRIGHT CHARADES! 

    UBER can say no one told them specifically we COURIERS  were watching for their specific sin. But obviously enough lawyers or near enough ones knew in my just walking away jobless, in disgust, months ago while the uber app bellows bring your useless to yourself back!

    So New York State and Uber will sit on their hands and volleyball money and food will arrive eventually and everyone can say if only we didn't pretend there wasn't a problem chiseling the labor that made the system work right once. 

    Customers were right stopping tipping. Unethical people made that happen. Started with rates that might not have needed tipping. Oh well, as written earlier it's acknowledged I/WE were just waiting for the collapse. It worked. Why collapse it? They didn't care and the State won't be that energetic in bureaucratic lethargy THAT DOMINATES THE COMMERCE AND STATE Bureaucracies. Go ahead spend more on republicans lying they're not the worst bureaucrats ever on both sides of the line.  

    ANYWAY. Far fetched as this sounds? In Delaware I saw a courier company, open all night, still carrying lawyer stuff for that solvent local business. Carry other stuff, but digitization changed carrying photos. But certain things? 

    Well. Seems this major Revolutionary War city, where Americans retreated, to strengthen, still has bicycles delivering. Obviously uber spent money to attack New York. These three cities they're probably just carving up the suburbs promising what's left of the malls or whatever as if they could care sitting back and waiting on the digits doing the perpetual work of hiding people who think exploitation's just fun gotten away with.

    Filled out an application with the company last week. Basically rudderless because real estate overpriced just getting by ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I was heading south, but a plan worth thinking about.

    I can be in New York easily or vice-verse, and maybe rotate with empty storefronts to put my films in the window for the nightly theater crowd etc and outlet for courier artists, through the years, to commercially show. 

    Here's the kicker, if I see gumption. Apps don't own the copyright on how they choose closest to pick up food etc. Known for years, but how to create the infrastructure. Couriers have done this in little ways working with restaurants. 

    I think Downtown Wilmington that closes early, would benefit if the lawyers received dinner etc with the important printed work they still receive. Not like these wholesalers acting like grocery stores with deliveries. But the whole downtown working together. Pharmacies taking turns when available. 

    Problem, supplying the reaches of the suburbs? Won't. Idea is to support the businesses. Unlike the apps that charged a percentage that restaurants absorbed unable to pass to customers. Customers pay for it. If not, doesn't work. Economy goes weird & an uber court-fired EXEC(s) delivers food as franchises out of mobile homes? Near enough ethicless. Competition-wise why not. But uber creator, historically you're just s___. Nice in retrospect knowing uber hated me more than I hated them. Cool.

    Competition is right. But people need to wonder why is it so important to not be judged based on ethics anymore? And that crap was elected president once pretending being stupid is strong.

Two Year Sentence For Stunt Honoring Integrity In Church

  The New York Times headlined Russian Punk Band Is Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Anti-Putin Stunt, By DAVID M. HERSZENHORN, with Nikolay Khalip, Anna Kordunsky, Ilya Mouzykantskii, Andrew Roth and Anna Tikhomirova contributing.

  Datelined MOSCOW, Moscow judge, Marina Syrova, handed down stiff prison sentences of two years for three young women who staged a protest against Vladimir V. Putin in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior last February. According to The Times, the convicts’ jailing and trial on hooliganism charges have already generated worldwide criticism of constraints on political speech in Russia.

  The explanation continues that while a Pussy Riot guilty verdict against the three women was widely expected, suspense had built over how severe a punishment they would receive. Prosecutors had demanded three-year prison terms, but President Vladimir V. Putin had weighed in on the side of leniency. Commenting on the case briefly, while in London for the Olympics, Mr. Putin said he hoped that the women were not judged “too severely,” but that there was nothing good about what they had done and the decision was the court’s.

  But the judge showed little sympathy, and it was not immediately clear whether the sentences would prompt a reaction on Moscow’s streets, according to The Times. As the judge read the lengthy verdict, hundreds of demonstrators had gathered outside the courthouse and shouted, “Free Pussy Riot!”

  So, is this blow now stricken for the cause of purported conservative justice, or for the rights of those who hold power to benefit?

  Meanwhile riot police arrested dozens, including the former great chess champion Garry Kasparov, who is active in the political opposition. Mr. Kasparov fought with the police and appeared to be beaten as he was bundled into a police vehicle. Poor police mandated to protect their own safety before the public’s or the public will be without their protection. Huh?

  Think if newspaper reporters chimed these facts from inside a cathedral they’d be carted off too? Possibly gaining exclusive jailhouse interviews with The Three Convicts. Although the women disrupted a holy service, didn’t they? Spoke out of turn in God’s House?

  The Times states, near the start of the highly anticipated proceedings, the judge said Pussy Riot’s so-called punk prayer in Moscow’s main cathedral amounted to the crime of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred and repeated that charge today in her verdict. Because that’s the propaganda that has stirred Russia’s religious masses to support this obvious suppression of free speech. The territorial reason behind Jesus going to the cross if anyone cares to recall?

  And because the women acted as a group, the maximum sentence under the law is seven years in prison. Three, not bad, right, supposedly. So it would perhaps be thirty for stealing, and life every time someone is killed? Who’s kidding whom? Not them, they know what they’re doing. That’s why they’re in charge and intend to stay there behind the judge so that if she dared not act on behalf of the team … . So it must be that I’m being fooled? Are we not advancing? Yes Vladimir, what will your legacy be described as once we’re both gone? Traitors can be shot, but eventually no one has to be loyal to anyone alive now. Then where will you and your legacy be, then? Just another Czar?

  Amnesty International condemned the sentences, which a spokeswoman said show “that the Russian authorities will stop at no end to suppress dissent and stifle civil society.”

  The women have been in jail since March and a chorus of supporters, including the music world’s biggest stars have demanded their immediate release. Rallies in support were held in dozens of cities around the world on Friday. Look at that, Vladimir. The martyrdom is already more popular than a well-high-financed police state, except, of course, with The Well-High-Financed Police State.

  The case has become a touchstone in the unfolding political drama that began in Russia after disputed parliamentary elections last December. Partly because of the sympathetic appearance of the defendants, two are mothers of young children, and their group uses music to carry its message. Pitting them against a united Kremlin and Russian Orthodox Church power-structure. Well that should protect all the Icons, God couldn’t seriously give a rat’s a__ about when most holy books point to no idols coming before God.

  While the case has allowed opponents of Mr. Putin to portray his government as squelching free speech and presiding over a rigged judicial system, it has also handed the government an opportunity to portray its political opponents as obscene, disrespectful rabble-rousers, liberal urbanites backed by the West in a conspiracy against the Russian state and the Russian church. Uh huh. From Russia to wherever, put on pretty costumes and control the minds of those you rule and hate them when they disobey, gets us what? Totalitarianism, governments the world over accuse the others of being. Scapegoatism, Stalinism, Putinism? Watch out big guy. Really, you and whoever you appoint historian in charge will not define your legacy. And it’s beginning to look a lot like no one will be as nice as me. Get it? Mate.

  The saga in February began when the women infiltrated Moscow’s main cathedral wearing colorful balaclavas, and pranced around in front of the golden Holy Doors leading to the altar. Dancing, chanting and lip-synching for what would later become a music video of a profane song in which they beseeched the Virgin Mary to rid Russia of Mr. Putin. Oh, so it’s just that they weren’t praying the right way? The Russian Orthodox Church and State can now comfortably represent themselves as those once influential bastards, the Klux Klux Klan did in the U.S. Where if you weren’t one of them, you were just wrong? So is it possible everyone in Russian prison is innocent, while the guilty of conspiracy to control all the sources of wealth roam free?

  At their Church event security guards quickly stripped Pussy Riot of their guitars, but the video was completed with splices of footage from another church.

  But while they have become minor heroes in the entertainment world, Pussy Riot is far more political than musical. Members have never released a song or an album, and they do not seem to have any serious aspirations to do so. But then, Times why should we care, when you point out on Thursday, with tensions rising in anticipation of the verdict and sentencing, the authorities said that threats had been made against Judge Syrova and that bodyguards had been assigned to her. Uh huh.

  As the trial opened, the women, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 23, Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30, and Maria Alyokhina, 24, apologized, saying they had never intended to offend the Orthodox Church but rather sought to make a political statement against Mr. Putin and against the church patriarch, Kirill I, for supporting Mr. Putin in his campaign for a third term as president. But prosecutors and lawyers for religious people who where described as victims of the stunt said the women were motivated by religious hatred. The defendants were accused of committing “moral harm” and even of practicing Satanism. And at the time I’m sure there were fans in the audience enjoying hearing Nero play while Rome burned too. Or at least wealthy paid enough not to criticize. And what’s the going rate in Russia anyway?

  As the trial continued, the women seemed emboldened by their mounting international support, including from Madonna, who paused a concert in Moscow to give a speech urging their release and later performed wearing a black bra with “Pussy Riot” stenciled in bold letters on her back. Sure, Madonna never saw a publicity stunt she didn’t like, except, perhaps as in this case, your government’s President Putin. But, I know, we both know. Madonna was at least allowed to perform with smoke and mirrors too, I presume. Ha!

  In a closing statement, Ms. Tolokonnikova, the most outspoken of the defendants, railed against repression in Russia. “To my deepest regret, this mock trial is close to the standards of the Stalinist troikas,” she said. “Who is to blame for the performance at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and for our being put on trial after the concert? The authoritarian political system is to blame. What Pussy Riot does is oppositional art or politics.” Adding, “In any event, it is a form of civil action in circumstances where basic human rights, civil and political freedoms are suppressed.”

  And now back to this. There was a time once, long ago, when as a small child I was honored to play one of The Three Wisemen before our Church and sing, “We Three Kings.” In preparation before in our Sunday School classroom one of the children raised in the southern white tradition, used my nickname and said, “_____ is the black one.” Well embarrassment aside, a more nobler honor has never since then been bestowed on me than that, and I have a good feeling Pussy Riot’s legacy for their Church performance will prove to be just as correctly virtuous. How about yours Mr. President? Because from here, you still have some catching up to do. Not that you’re so far behind the world leader idiots who claim God tells them to go to war, but against your own people you’re coming too darn close. Cut it out. I know it’s not just you, but you’re the one who’ll be in the books.

Well. How Should I Say This?

    While I've generally always thought reparations was/is a good idea, I've also never made it an essayic point. So I apologize. But to Senator Mitch McConnell's point that enough progress has been established, such that this generation shouldn't be held responsible for our forbears' faults is placing the issue on infinite hold like the National Debt or something. As if this generation were just a corporation severing ties to previous mistakes. As if it weren't, really, so very long ago when mere incremental progress wasn't even made, or even approached, at all. 
  That the, severely selfish, illogical crime of slavery happened is because business is the business of shortcuts and why any self-absolution isn't enough. Because it was the aftermath suffered through, and criminally and socially enforced, that was even more insane. That's what any generation would be satisfied having a pass for? C'mon. We've not even solved the little stuff, Mr. Voice For A Varnished America preferring to be hypnotized into thinking nothing's our fault. Above the machinations of whichever conspiracy held sway over previous times. 
  Denial as demonstrated by that border wall our president wants, that would come to symbolize a vast sculptural representation of the façade that our people aren't responsible for what our governments, enterprises and people have ever done in maintaining the cultural instabilities that cause people to run from their homes. Technically running from the problem, just as Americans are. 
  Steadfastly behind no reparations takes advantage of "American citizens" who've been denied the deeper awareness of understanding what bigotry reduced us to and produced. It's not our fault generations took so long? But if not our responsibility, believe it or not, we're still part of the fault. Those cracks that divide a world that's really not separate at all.   

  Can't face the future without facing the past. Hasn't and won't be done.

     Prison sucks, right? That people end up there is a demonstrable tragedy. Beats all that there's just never enough time to work out a better way. Or money to afford a better style. Where indifference and violence tilt the atrocity's scales is a blindness to the ramifications of what it means to have people treated so poorly. At fault or not. 

     Of course we all want to kiss justice and hold it dear and have it touch everything around us to keep right. Yep. Life's spooky. The normal can at any moment vaporize when at wits' end sans solution.

     Huh. Imagine that. See the digital world where nothing can really be blamed on individuals has always been a part of life the modern age has now streamlined. Yes, apparently we're all disengaged on this somewhat long slide of lost individuality. How far down it goes, we know but up's through the roof.
     And people are still being shot for no other reason than shooting. It's not about why but indicative of how callous life is that these people can be so rubbed raw they act out in utterly desperate perverted ways. There's no honor in taking another's life. The upside down people are responsible for the calamities while we're responsible there's a mess. 

Never Before? Right. Like Every Day Opportunity Eludes Vision

    Issues seemingly cross the public brow like shooting stars, and happiness is knowing that, at least, this time, you're out of the way. The random out there-ness aspect, the public can't touch but is designed to reflect as progenitor. Sleight of hand political persuasion people are so numb to, even, especially, the screamers feel a part when everyone's just parcels. 

  How powerful you are in the public eye is hardly near as prestigious as the prominently placed two, pictured here -  

Venture a guess at how much? Or are we all just so flabbergasted by what would otherwise be labelled vainglorious gall, depicting upstanding righteous Americanism. Guess if you're going to hitch to a wagon, bandwagons have longer legs, so to speak. Mean as we have to be is why we're where we are, as formally explained in wonderfully woven historical masterpieces. All The King's Men. For formal display. 

  The planet's fossil fuel fleet needs to transition now and should have been common sense for decades. A president shrugging and hedging and hawing is not a country's executive but someone watching out for the interests of business shortcuts that have a bad history of not working out quite so well in the long run despite short-term rewards. Forget global warming. The planet shouldn't be this messed up anyway. No shame. None.
